Style 2BF has a hex nipple fixed in position and contains the
transition from sheath wire to insulated wire. Typically, the flexible,
insulated leads connect to a thermocouple head or a remote location. Optional
thermocouple heads may be ordered with this style.

Style 2BS has a spring-loaded hex nipple. The transition from sheath
wire to insulated wire is contained in a smooth
transition equal to the O.D. of the sheath. A spring-loaded assembly is often
used with a thermowell to ensure contact of the thermocouple tip with the bottom
of the thermowell. The flexible insulated lead is connected to a thermocouple
head or a remote location. A thermocouple head may be ordered as an option with
this style.
